Maple Sugar Festival a go for this weekend

Organizers of this year’s Maple Sugar Festival say the cold weather will not stop their 16th annual event from going ahead.

It’s set for tomorrow afternoon from noon to 5 at Muskoseepi Park.

Nathalie Roufosse with the French Canadian Association in Grande Prairie says they do have activities planned for indoors, including a musical group from Edmonton.

“They are really well known in Edmonton, and they do a lot of shows either together or seperate, but they are really good.  We have the big bouncy castles for the kids, we have face painting inside as well as some crafts.”

Outdoor activities such as sleigh rides, snow shoeing, and the serving of taffy on the snow are still a go.

Admission is 5 dollars a person or 20 dollars per family.
