Distribution centre opened for wildfire evacuees

The Grande Prairie Regional Emergency Partnership has opened up a distribution operation at its GPRC evacuee registration centre. Available items will include necessities such as toothpaste, water and other basic daily amenities.

Evacuees who are looking to pick up items must to first register at the Reception Centre and receive a wristband prior to visiting the Distribution Centre.

Despite the opening of the centre, GPREP officials say they are not looking for donations at this time.

As of Friday, the GPRC location has registered 576 evacuees. Both the reception and distribution centres will be open 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. daily.
