County of Grande Prairie 2015 budget deliberations get started today.
Council will spend the next three days working through the capital and operational budget plans.
Reeve Leanne Beaupre says a big priority for council this coming year is seeing the dinosaur museum finished and ready to open.
“It’s very important to council, and I think it’s very important to our rate payers that we get that open as soon as possible. We hope to have it open by September in time for the Tour of Alberta that’s going to be showcasing not just the County of Grande Prairie and the Grande Prairie region, but the province of Alberta as well.”
Council is still waiting to hear back province as to whether they will receive any grant funding to pay for the museum’s exhibits.
Beaupre says another big priority is funding improvements to roads and infrastructure around the county.
