Petroleum Show organizers feel a quiet confidence about industry future

The 13th Petroleum Show in Grande Prairie is off and running, with organizers feeling a bit of a renewed confidence about the future of the industry.

“You know I’d say from two years ago it’s just confidence. I’d think some of it has to do with the new government and we’re hoping for access to tidewater and continued development of the Montney,” says GP Petroleum Association President Rob Petrone.

The show, which is the third biggest in the world behind Houston and Calgary, has around 300 vendors in attendance to show off the latest and greatest in tech and product in the oil and gas industry.

Petrone says alongside the usual international heavy hitters, a large contingent of Peace Country organizations are involved.

“There are a lot of local vendors, and from Edmonton, Calgary, and the Peace Region here. A lot of equipment down here and a lot of new technology to come to check out.”

The show runs May 15th and 16th at the TARA Centre in Evergreen Park.
