Witnesses sought in an early Sunday morning assault and robbery

Police are looking for witnesses to an assault that happened early Sunday morning between the Shark Club and the Sandman Hotel.

RCMP say a man was walking by himself after leaving the Shark Club around 2 am, when he was approached by 4 other men, who reportedly struck him on the head with an extendible baton, knocking him to the ground.

The men threatened the victim with a knife before taking his wallet, car keys, and cell phone.

The suspects, two of whom were Caucasian, were wearing black coats with the hoods up, blue jeans, and black boots.

They took off on foot to the west.

The victim was not seriously injured, but police are looking for any witnesses to the assault to come forward with information either to the local RCMP detachment, or Crime Stoppers.
