County issues fire advisory

People living in the County of Grande Prairie are being advised not to burn as wind and warm temperatures continue. A fire advisory has been issued for the county along with the towns of Beaverlodge, Sexsmith and Wembley and the Village of Hythe.

People who have existing permits are advised not to burn as the warm, dry weather and gusting winds increase the fire hazard in the region. No new permits will be issued until further notice. Burning is not permitted when winds reach 12 kilometres per hour or higher.

A fire advisory is also in place for the Grande Prairie Forest Area.
