UPDATE #2: Highway 2 has reopened. Expect delays due to volume.
UPDATE: Fairview RCMP and the Fairview Fire Department are on scene. They say that the cab of the Semi is engulfed but the driver was able to exit without injuries. There is no traffic detour available at this time as the only way across the Peace River in that area is the Dunvegan Bridge.
Highway 2 between Rycroft and Fairview has been closed due to a semi-truck fire. Lanes are closed in both directions at Township Road 801B.
Drivers are being asked to use an alternate route and stay out of the area if possible as major delays are expected.
