Record snowfall in Grande Prairie

It looks like Grande Prairie broke a more than 60 year old snowfall record yesterday.

According to Environment Canada, the previous record of 12.5 centimetres of snow was set in 1950.

Yesterday we saw nearly 15 centimetres of the white stuff come down.

Snow removal crews are plowing in Westgate, Royal Oaks, Northridge, Crystal Ridge, Scenic Ridge, Lakeland, Crystal Lake Estates and Copperwood today.

A parking ban on permanent snow routes is still in effect.
