Youth Engagement Awards presented to businesses, youth mentor

The young people of Grande Prairie have spoken. Four local businesses like Nitehawk Adventure Park and the Montrose Cultural Centre, as well as one mentor, have won Youth Engagement Awards as voted on by Grande Prairie youth.

Presented annually by the City of Grande Prairie Youth Council, they are given to businesses, schools, individuals and community agencies that show the valuable role community plays in positive youth development in Grande Prairie.

Youth Council member Danny Murphy says it’s important to recognize these businesses for all that they do.

“Businesses and organizations that create inclusive and welcoming spaces for youth need to be encouraged and recognized, as these influences greatly contribute to the wellbeing and connection within our community as a whole.”
