UPDATE: GPREP deactivated following fire at Secure Energy Services in County

UPDATE: Officials have confirmed the fire took place at Secure Energy Services near La Glace. GPREP has been deactivated.

The Grande Prairie Regional Emergency Partnership was activated on Sunday morning after a fire broke out at an industrial processing facility in the County of Grande Prairie. The fire was located at the plant near Highway 672 and Range Road 85 at 7:15 a.m. As a precaution, people living within a 2.1 kilometer radius were evacuated.

The fire is now under control and Firemaster Oilfield Services Inc., with support from the County Regional Fire Service took the lead. They say there is no concern for public safety at this time.
