PWPSD nominates Anastasia Potratz for Edwin Parr award

First-year Savanna School teacher Anastasia Potratz has been nominated by the Peace Wapiti Public School Division for the Edwin Par Award. Teaching core subjects for Grade 4 classes, Potratz also teaches Grades 4-9 French and health and shares responsibility for Grade 4 physical education.

Potratz says she is humbled by the nomination and believes it’s all part and parcel of being a teacher.

“It is my contribution to leaving the world a better place. In action, this means working with students to make sure they are learning; talking with students to make sure they aren’t feeling left out; and attempting, in all things, to act with kindness and compassion.”

The Edwin Parr Award is handed out by the Alberta School Boards Association to six outstanding first-year teachers within the six ABSA zones across the province.
