A snowfall warning is now in effect for the Grande Prairie region.
Anywhere between 15 and 30 centimetres is expected by Friday night.
Heavy snowfall should start tonight in central Alberta and then move into the Grande Prairie area before heading east to Edmonton.
Heavy snow will continue Thursday and Friday.
Daytime highs will also be below normal for the weekend.
