Grande Prairie Live Theatre mourns the loss of founding member

Those in the Grande Prairie Live Theatre scene are mourning the loss of a local legend of the stage. Jenny Tetreau, who for more than 60 years acted, directed and had a hand in 120 productions, passed away on Tuesday, April 23rd at the age of 88.

In a statement on the production house’s Facebook page they say Tetreau was a founding member of GPLT in 1963.

“We have lost a wonderful person, a great lady, and a creative soul. GPLT’s top volunteer award is named after Jennie.”

“Her calm guidance and strong resolve to do the right thing at all times kept GPLT moving forward,” it continues. “We have lost a true friend and mentor.”

A celebration of life will be held at St. Paul’s United Church on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 1 p.m. Fellowship is to follow at the Golden Age Centre with everyone welcome.
