“Wired 2 Hire” Youth Program looking for applicants

The Grande Prairie Volunteer Services Bureau is currently accepting applicants for their “Wired 2 Hire” Youth Program.

The program is set up for Grande Prairie and area residents aged 18-30 and offers certification first Aid
(Standard C with CPR & AED), Food Safety, Rent Smart, Customer Service and Alberta Class 7 Learner’s Drivers License.

Clinics within the 6-week program will also touch on things like resume and cover letter building and interview skills.

“In today’s world of increasing populism and tribalism, it is vital for our young adults and youth to find
new ways of thinking and problem-solving” says GPVSB Executive Director Carol-Anne Pasemko.

“Our young people will face many challenges over the course of their lives, with associated pressures and the need for flexibility,” she adds.

Everyone who successfully completes the program will also be given a practicum at a local not-for-profit organization within the city. Wired 2 Hire runs from April 18 to June 8.
