UCP’s Dan Williams unseats NDP in Peace River

The provincial riding of Peace River has turned blue. Former NDP MLA Debbie Jabbour has been unofficially defeated by the United Conservative Party’s Dan Williams.

Williams has previously worked with UCP leader and Alberta premier-designate Jason Kenney as a staffer in Ottawa and is now employed at a construction and gravel company in La Crete. With 70 of 77 polls reporting, he leads with 5,893 votes.

Jabbour stands with 2,492 votes, the Alberta Party’s Dakota House with 585, the Freedom Conservative Party’s Connie Russell with 208, and Liberal Remi J Tardif with 154.
