Provincial titles for local sports teams

It was a big weekend for local high school sports teams.

The St. Joe’s Celtics beat the Medicine Hat Mohawks 13 to 4 to win the provincial championship.

The victory capped off an undefeated season for the Tier II team, and also makes them only the second Mighty Peace Football League team to win provincials.

Meanwhile, the Peace Wapiti Academy Titans girls volleyball team beat Lacombe to take the 3A provincial finals.

The Spirit River Regional Academy Renegades took second in the 2A championship.
