Last day of operational budget discussion

Today is the final day of city council’s four year operational budget discussions.

A number of items have been set aside for further discussion, including city tourism initiatives, council salaries, and downtown development incentives.

The City will also be considering whether or not to continue the seniors tax rebate program, which costs $50,000 annually.

Administration’s projected operational budget for 2015 is $150.5 million, which would result in a tax increase of 4.5 per cent.
