One of three men charged with beating a fellow inmate at the Peace River Correctional Centre is facing 3.5 years in jail.
Dylan Moberley-Horseman of Peace River was sentenced to five years for aggravated assault plus time served of 15.5 months and a 10-year firearms ban after 28-year-old inmate Dylan Gogan was put in a medically-induced coma after he was assaulted in the jail on March 11th, 2018.
Gogan had been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault, as well as possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The charges against him were stayed due to his medical condition. His co-accused is still facing attempted murder and aggravated assault charges.
Herbert Charles Wanihadie of Grovedale and Kyle Malcolm Beaver of Edmonton have also been charged with assault in this case. A decision on the charges for Herbert will be made in Peace River on June 13th. Beaver is next scheduled to appear in Peace River Court on June 17th.
