Drag Racing – A Family Affair

Drag Racing – A Family Affair

We at the NPBRA offer a safe, family friendly environment to promote drag racing. We are a completely member owned, not for profit group, we recently took ownership of the Beaverlodge airport, which has since been wonderfully maintained by our volunteers.

Everyone thinks they have a 10 second car thanks to some TV and movies, there’s a good reason we call the place where we get our time slips “the reality booth” one of the best parts about the bracket racing events is that you don’t need a “race car” the pure street class is open to any street legal vehicle, the trick is being consistent (easier said than done).

As much as we enjoy racing, we find ourselves at the track, and our monthly meetings for the people. The NPBRA is completely member run, by members of our community, we are proud to be “not like the big tracks” although we do follow very strict safety rules, especially since being sanctioned by the IHRA.

These are the same people that brought you Drag Wars, and although we haven’t used the name in a few years the racing is the same, it’s just a little bit out of town. Food is provided by the wonderful folks at A&W, all proceeds go to charity, usually MS Society.

We have both “street legal” weekends which is basically run what you bring heads up 1/4 mile racing, and what’s called 1/8 mile bracket racing weekends where there’s a class for everyone, even the kids can run jr. dragsters.

This is a beautiful facility with room for weekend camping, minutes away from the town of Beaverlodge, lots of friendly people, completely volunteer run, anyone is welcome to race, watch, and of course volunteer to help us grow.

Whether you’re a seasoned racer with a full blown race car, or you have a completely stock daily driver and never raced before you can test your skills and your car off the streets in a safe friendly environment.

Speaking of Driven People, the NPBRA is looking for volunteers to assist in the many special events and shows. To get in on the action, as a volunteer, please email for more information.
