Alberta Independence Party announces candidate for Grande Prairie

The Alberta Independence Party has announced its local candidate for the upcoming election. Ray Robertson is looking to become the MLA for the Grande Prairie riding.

“I love my province and want everyone man, woman and child to have a better life and achieve their goals and dreams. If elected, I will fight for every Albertan in my riding of Grande Prairie and all over this great province.”

Robertson was born in Victoria, British Columbia and moved to Alberta at the age of 12. He is up against Alberta Party’s Grant Berg, Freedom Conservative Party’s Bernard Hancock, Independent Rony Rajput, the NDP’s Todd Russell, and the UCP’s Tracy Allard.

The Alberta Independence Party was initially founded in 2000, with the hopes of increasing the province’s autonomy within the Canadian Confederation. The party was revived in 2018.
