The Nitehawk Recreation area is delaying the soft opening of the ski hill by a week.
Mother Nature has only just started to cooperate with the snow making, meaning a little more time is needed to get the hill ready, but Assistant General Manager Johnathan Clarkson says the November 22 and 23 opening date is firm.
“We’ll have the Aquatera Tube Zone open, our terrain park will have some features put in, we’ve actually got Wade Cose from Canada Olympic Park coming up, he does park design, and then also next weekend, we’re actually going to be kicking off the season with a ‘Dust of the Rust: Park Jam’ for skiers and snowboarders.”
A little further from home, Marmot Basin in Jasper is opening two of their chairs and a handful of runs today for early bird skiers.
