The skating season at the Dave Barr Community Centre has ended early this year. Because of mechanical issues with its ice plant, the rink is now closed.
Facility Manager Cate Amaro says while they were disappointed to have to shutter the doors early, nearly everyone who had ice time booked has been sorted out.
“We were able to accommodate all of our users. We accommodated them at the Coca-Cola Centre and Revolution Place.”
Amaro was thankful for those facing a cancelled day out were very understanding when it came to trying to find alternative plans.
“We are happy we were able to accommodate them. They are happy and they understand it was completely out of our control.”
The Dave Bar Community Centre rinks were only scheduled to stay open until Sunday.
