Grande Prairie is having a good year for housing starts.
So far this year there have been 635 starts, compared to 490 at this point last year.
Starts on single family homes for the month of October are up 85 per cent, from 34 in 2013 to 63 in 85.
Multiple family home starts are up even more dramatically, 300 per cent, with 12 starts in October last year and 48 starts last month.

Year over year however, single family homes are down to 340, from 351 at this time in 2013.
