UPDATE: ATCO Electric says the power is back on for all customers.
ATCO Electric says 2,778 customers in the Grande Prairie are without power Wednesday afternoon. Those affected look to be to the east of the city, as well as to the south.
The outage was reported at 4:04 p.m. and the cause is said to be defective equipment. Early estimates have the lights going back on by 6:30 p.m.
