Debbie Jabbour again earns Peace River NDP nomination

Debbie Jabbour will again represent the Peace River riding in the next provincial election. She was chosen during nomination meetings held last week in Peace River and High Level.

Challenging the incumbent MLA was Grimshaw area resident Justin Sharpe. Following the member vote, he said he was proud to have made an impact during his campaign.

“In the one week I was allowed to raise new membership, we doubled the membership so that is a win in itself.”

Jabbour has served as MLA for Peace River since the 2015 election. She is the first woman to serve as Deputy Speaker and Chair of Committees, and is currently a member of the Special Standing Committee on Members’ Services, chair of the Ministerial Panel on Child Intervention, and chair of the Northern Alberta Development Council.
