Service Canada is moving some of its operations in Grande Prairie to Westgate West.
Their current location in the Towne Centre Mall is reportedly in need of major upgrades, and no longer has enough room for growth.
They’ve found space in the Sterling Centre at 100th Ave and 116th Street, and will be moving all federal services, like passport and employment insurance applications, while provincial functions will remain.
City Council approved the zoning, noting that businesses downtown would likely be impacted.

The move is expected by March 2015, with approximately 25 employees involved.
