Another extreme cold warning issued for Grande Prairie area

Once again, the Grande Prairie region is under an extreme cold warning. Environment Canada say wind chills as cold as near minus 40 are expected Saturday night.

“These extreme cold conditions will improve Sunday afternoon as temperatures moderate. This warning will likely be expanded as an Arctic airmass enters Alberta later this weekend.”

Residents are reminded to cover up as frostbite can develop on exposed skin within minutes. Pets should also be kept inside.
