County to send snow plows out Monday

County of Grande Prairie snow removal crews will hit the road Monday. They’ll start by clearing main paved roads, followed by arterial and local gravel roads.

The crews dedicated to hamlets will also start Monday in Clairmont, both north and south of 108 Avenue. A parking restriction will be in effect as of Sunday morning. Plows will then head to Whispering Ridge and Westlake, followed by Wedgewood, Taylor Estates, and Maple Ridge.

Signs will be posted at the entrances to neighbourhoods 24 hours before snow plows are set to work in them. If signage is up, residents are asked not to park on the road to make sure snow removal can be done more efficiently.

In the City of Grande Prairie, crews are currently plowing priority 2 roads and hauling away windrows. Ice control crews are also sanding. A parking ban remains in effect for all permanent snow routes.
