City looking for input on affordable housing options

When it comes to affordable housing, where could they improve? That’s what the city wants to find out. It is asking residents to take a survey and tell them what types of housing could be added in Grande Prairie.

The survey is part of the first phase of the city’s new affordable housing strategy. The new strategy will update the one created in 2011 and will outline what role the City will play in providing housing supports.

It will ask about residents’ current housing, their preferences, how housing costs affect them, as well as some demographic information. City administration will then use the information to decide which part of the population is most in need of housing supports and what types they need.

The 24 question survey will take five to 10 minutes to complete and will be available until March 8th. It can be found on the city’s website. The new strategy is set to be completed in the fall of 2019.
