The RCMP in Whitecourt is looking for a man suspected of robbing a local bank. The armed robbery happened around 12:30 p.m. Friday at an unnamed financial institution on 50th Street.

Police say a man demanded cash from an employee and fled on foot. He made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and no one was hurt.

The suspect is described as white, 5’10” to 6’0″. He was wearing a camouflage-style jacket, black pants, and a black toque and mittens.

The investigation is ongoing and RCMP asks anyone with information to contact the Whitecourt detachment or Crime Stoppers.
