A Donnelly man is facing charges following a child pornography investigation. On February 8th, 52-year-old Royal “Mac” Olsen was arrested in his home where he provided children’s relief care. He has now been charged with possession and distribution of child pornography.
The investigation into Olsen began in July 2018. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children gave ALERT information about an unknown Alberta man uploading child pornography through social media. The Internet Child Exploitation Unit identified Olsen as the suspect.
During the arrest, a number of computers and electronic devices were taken and are currently being looked at. At this point, ALERT doesn’t believe any children in his care were victimized.
Anyone with information about this investigation or any other related offences is asked to contact their local RCMP detachment or go to cybertip.ca.
