The Grande Cache Institution has been on lockdown since Friday night.
Few details have been released, but Correction Service Canada says staff members needed to conduct an “exceptional” search for the safety security of the prison, its staff and inmates.
It also notes its commitment to stopping contraband from getting into its institutions.
As such, no visitors are being allowed at this time.
