One dead in Highway 40 crash

A man from Saskatchewan was killed in a crash south of Grande Prairie on Highway 40 Saturday night. RCMP says the collision between a pickup truck, a semi truck and a vac truck happened around 5 p.m. at the intersection with Archie Way Road.

The 64-year-old driver of the Ford F-350 was declared dead at the scene. While an investigation is still underway, Corporal Curtis Peters says the semi was heading south and the vac track north when the pickup truck proceeded from a stop sign at the intersection.

The highway was closed until a little before 4 a.m. Sunday morning. The name of the deceased has not been released.
