RCMP is strongly discouraging unnecessary travel in the Grande Prairie area. Officers are responding to a number of crashes as freezing temperatures and snow-covered icy roads have reportedly created hazardous driving conditions all over the city and rural area.
Police are asking drivers to use extreme caution, slow down, and give more space when following. Unlike Monday and Tuesday, all Grande Prairie public school buses were running Wednesday morning, while only a few Catholic and Peace Wapiti ones were cancelled.
