A man known to work in Grande Prairie has been sentenced to one and a half years in jail. On January 10th, 34-year-old Robert Clarke appeared in Supreme Court in Dawson Creek and plead guilty to aggravated assault.
Clarke was known to travel between the east coast, B.C., and Alberta and was arrested in Nova Scotia on February 23, 2017. He was originally charged with attempted murder, assault, kidnapping and weapons offences stemming from an incident in Moberly Lake, B.C. the previous August. As part of his sentence he is also under a lifetime firearms ban.
32-year-old Brandon MacDonald of Chetwynd B.C. also appeared on the 10th, pleading guilty to attempted murder with a firearm, kidnapping and uttering threats. He was sentenced to just under eight years in jail and a lifetime firearms ban in connection with the same incident.
