The QEII Hospital Foundation’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and the start of the holiday season in Grande Prairie, is just around the corner.
The 26th Annual Festival of Trees gala evening is on November 15, followed by the festival itself from the 21 to the 23.
Executive Director Cindy Park says with gala tickets already nearly sold out, preparations are going smoothly.
“Everything is going very well, we have lots of sponsors, lots of decorators, lots of designers, and ticket sales are certainly going very well too.”
Park says they have a lot of support from the community, with many tree, mini tree, and gingerbread house donations committed to.
“Lots of people are working on those, and those are our designers that certainly put their heart and soul into decorating for the festival. We have at least 100 mini trees and a whole bunch of gingerbread houses to look at too.”
Last year’s Festival of trees raised nearly $350,000 for the hospital foundation, which supports both the QEII, and the new regional hospital.
