Five year sentence for string of armed robberies

A man involved in a string of armed robberies in Grande Prairie this spring has been handed a five year sentence.

30 year old Christopher Morton plead guilty to a number of drug and robbery related offences Wednesday, while others were withdrawn.

Morton was arrested in April after several local stores along 100th Avenue were robbed by a suspect carrying a knife.

He’s already in custody at the Edmonton Remand Centre.
