UPDATE: Chilly weather forces continued closure of Nitehawk ski hill

UPDATE: Nitehawk will remain closed Saturday due to the cold weather.

A night of free skiing at Nitehawk Year-Round Adventure Park won’t be going ahead as planned Friday. With windchills of minus 36 in the forecast, the scheduled Servus Free Ski Friday event has been cancelled.

“With the snow continuing to fall and another 15 to 20 centimetres of fresh snow in the forecast overnight,” says Assistant General Manager Johnathan Clarkson, “we hope the temperatures warm up enough so we can open for an epic powder day on the slopes tomorrow.”

If open Saturday, hours run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The Snowmaker’s Family Lounge will remain open Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. The next free skiing event will be March 1st.
