County crews working to clear roads

Due to the recent snow fall, County of Grande Prairie snow removal crews have hit the streets. They are currently working on main paved roads followed by arterial and gravel roads.

Starting Saturday, crews will begin clearing roads in Clairmont north and south of 108 Avenue. After that, they will move into Whispering Ridge and Westlake village. Once the roads in Clairmont are complete, crews will move into the subdivisions of Wedgewood, Taylor Estates, and Maple Ridge.

A temporary parking restriction is currently in place for Clairmont north and south of 108 Avenue. No parking signs have also been installed at the entrance to each neighborhood and bans will be in effect 24 hours prior to crews coming in. While the signs are visible, parking on the road is not allowed.

People are also reminded not to pile or push snow on to the road as the county says it slows down the process and creates a traffic hazard.
