UPDATE: The County says the road has reopened.
A road just east of Beaverlodge has been closed due to flooding. The County of Grande Prairie says Range Road 95 has been shut down from just north of Highway 43 to Township Road 720.
“Fluctuating temperatures in recent days has allowed a significant amount of snow to melt causing water to flood the roadway,” explains Director of Public Works Dale Van Volkingburgh.
County staff are monitoring runoff. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution as conditions could change quickly, especially overnight.
“If you encounter an area that requires immediate attention such as roads flooding, washed out or frozen culverts or significant road damage that impedes travel or has a significant risk to safety and property, please contact the Public Works 24-hour Emergency Line at 780-532-7393,” adds Van Volkingburgh.
