Man sentenced for seemingly unprovoked stabbing

A Grande Prairie man will spend more than three years in jail for stabbing someone last month. Alexzyander Arthur Ghostkeeper pleaded guilty to aggravated assault on January 16th and was sentenced to 30 months.

Ghostkeeper was arrested in the early morning hours of December 18th, less than three days after a man suffered serious injuries from the stabbing. It happened around 10:45 p.m. on December 15th in the area of 100 Street and 93 Avenue.

At the time, Grande Prairie RCMP said video surveillance showed the suspect attacking the man without an obvious reason. A search the night of the stabbing was unsuccessful, but public tips led to the arrest.

With credit for one-and-a-half months served, Ghostkeeper has 28.5 months remaining in his sentence. His possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose charge was dropped.
