$80K worth of meth, GHB, fentanyl seized from vehicle

UPDATE: As of February 27, 2019, all the charges against Blid have been withdrawn.

Spear was sentenced to a year and a half in jail and a 10-year firearms ban for possession for the purpose of trafficking. He was also given a three-month jail sentence for possession of stolen property, a six-month sentence for driving while prohibited and a year-long licence suspension.

As of May 22, 2019, a warrant was out for the arrest of Angel Sears.

Three people have been arrested after roughly $80,000 worth of drugs were found in a vehicle. Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams and Grande Prairie RCMP pulled the vehicle over in the Montrose area on January 22nd.

Inside, police say they found 782 grams of meth, 7.5 litres of GHB, and 10 fentanyl pills. The seizure also included score sheets typically used to track drug sales, scales, other drug trafficking paraphernalia, and stolen ID.

The three suspects inside the vehicle were taken into custody. ALERT Inspector Sean Boser says collaboration was key to the bust.

“This investigation exemplifies our close working relationship with Grande Prairie RCMP and our shared commitment to getting harmful drugs off the street.”

34-year-old Jacob Blid, 21-year-old Angel Sears, and 44-year-old Richard Spear have all been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of property obtained by crime. Spear is also charged with driving while prohibited and breach of recognizance, while Sears is also facing a breach of recognizance charge.
