The airport in Fairview has reopened. The Municipal District of Fairview confirmed Wednesday afternoon that traffic could again use the runway after it was closed due to icy conditions.
At this point, it’s reported the airstrip is 90 per cent covered in ice and 100 per cent covered in half an inch of snow. The tarmac is also fully covered in ice and snow.
While no air traffic has been allowed since January 16th, an exception was made for medevac services.
