Okabe makes NHL Central Scouting midterm rankings

Zachary Okabe is still on the National Hockey League’s radar. The Grande Prairie Storm forward made it on to NHL Central Scouting’s midterm rankings for the 2019 draft.

Okabe is ranked 201st out of all North American skaters, not including goalies. The 20-year-old right wing has 42 points with the Storm so far this season, tied with Zach Webb and just behind leader Vincent Milot-Ouellet with 43.

Four other Alberta Junior Hockey League players made the list, and all five will get to show their stuff at the Canadian Junior Hockey League Prospects Game in Okotoks on Tuesday night. The AJHL says 88 of its players have been selected directly from the league in the NHL Entry Draft and 20 alumni have won the Stanley Cup.
