Local businesses honoured at Chamber awards gala

Six local businesses have been honoured with the Chamber of Commerce’s annual awards of excellence.

For Business of the Year, Royal LePage the Realty Group GP was the big winner in the 10 or more employees category, while DansConnection School of Performing Arts took the honours with under 10 employees.

Best New Business went to Elevated Robotic Services, while Aztec Engineering is this year’s Employer of Choice.

Meanwhile, Lonny Thiessen of Western Manufacturing was named Young Entrepreneur of the Year, and Karen Compagnon Employee of the Year for Costco.

The Business Excellence Awards were handed out Friday night at an awards gala, which wrapped up Small Business Week in Grande Prairie.
