UPDATE: Students return to Hillside School after evacuation

UPDATE: As of 12:55 p.m. GPPSD says staff and students have returned to the school. The issue has reportedly been resolved, but no further details have been given.

Staff and students at Hillside Community School have been taken out of class due to concerns about an unidentified smell. Grande Prairie Public School Division says they have been moved to the nearby Faith Lutheran Church as a precaution.

School maintenance workers and the Grande Prairie Fire Department are investigating the odour. The school division says parents don’t need to pick up their children at this time, and an update will come when available.
