City to give out $4.3 million in community group funding

A number of local organizations will get a little extra help from the City of Grande Prairie this year. Thirty-five groups have been approved to receive $4.3 million in 2019 Community Group Funding.

During Monday night’s council meeting, the city increased the 2019 funding approved during budget talks in November by nearly $60,000. That extra money will come from 2018 surplus funding and won’t affect the city’s planned property tax decrease.
