UPDATE: Highway 43 has reopened.
Highway 43 has been closed near the B.C./Alberta border due to icy road conditions. 511 Alberta reports the closure is by Demmitt at Range Road 131.
The province says crews are working to clear ice buildup from freezing rain. There’s no estimated time of reopening.
Roads around the Grande Prairie region are covered in ice. RCMP has asked people not to travel unless necessary.
