UPDATE: The freezing rain warning for the Grande Prairie area has been cancelled. One continues for the Peace River area.

A freezing rain warning has been issued for the Grande Prairie – Beaverlodge – Valleyview and Peace River – Fairview – High Prairie – Manning regions. Environment Canada says an area of freezing rain has moved into west-central Alberta.

It is expected to end later Sunday morning. People are warned surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Grande Prairie RCMP has asked people not to drive in the area if not necessary.
