Total Safety acquires Clairmont oilfield company

A Clairmont oilfield services company has been bought out by Total Safety. The company announced last week that is has acquired Vantage Safety Services, which was started up by Todd and Shirley McKeever in 2003.

Vantage has an office and shop site in Clairmont, offering services like fire extinguishers, gas detection and monitoring devices, air trailers, safety training, and repair and maintenance. President of Global Business Units Paul Tyree says Total Safety is excited to expand into the Grande Prairie area.

“The combination of Total Safety and Vantage Safety enhances our ability to service our clients in the region. The service offering expansion means that our clients will have access to innovative safety services including EMT/Paramedics, Industrial Hygiene, Technical Rescue, technical safety equipment service and sales, more field staff to service the day to day as well as turnaround safety needs regardless of the project size.”

“We are excited to be a part of Total Safety and look forward to better serving our customers with our combined capabilities,” adds the McKeevers. “Total Safety has a customer and employee centric culture that will fit well with our company.”

Vantage’s management team will continue to run operations out of Clairmont. Tyree says the deal will mean more local jobs in the future.

“We plan to grow organically in the Peace region given the expanded capabilities of the combined business. Currently we are looking to hire more field safety personnel to fill open positions in the market.”

The value of the acquisition has not been released publically. Total Safety has already recently taken over Pivotal Safety in Bonnyville.
